The Other Me

If you could clone yourself, how would you split up your responsibility? In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Clone Wars.”

While looking at him polishing his bike with his swift  but thorough strokes making sure that no scratch will be missed before he finally covers them up until the next bike ride, I thought he’ll make a good father, taking care of his stuff that they are in order, neat and clean.

“you should have a son, who’s going to inherit this?”, I quipped.

“What do you want, little me all around this house?” As he was speaking I imagined greasy little boys running and playing all around in the basement while he was polishing his bike.

So we both have no kids, I just reminded myself. It never occurred to me to have kids when I was adult, I have been working all my life perhaps that was the reason why. I like children in fact, I took care of my nieces and nephews. If I could clone myself this is how I want to split responsibility, I would make her the one pregnant then take care of the babies until they get bigger. Then she would disappear when the children are adults themselves.

What do you think?
